She brings expertise in human psychology, behavioural science and communications theory to her work.

David has been delivering qualitative research for over 15 years for a range of clients. Bringing skills and knowledge from previous roles in business-to-business marketing, he has worked extensively with professionals and senior stakeholders across a range of diverse commercial and social issues and research methodologies. David has a particular affinity with, and skills in reaching, youth audiences.

Claire has over 20 years’ experience in delivering research, training and consultancy across a range of public and commercial sectors, from environment, education and health through to transport, retail and hospitality. With expertise in a range of research methods, Claire is also a skilled workshop leader. She draws strategies and knowledge from coaching, counselling and psychology.

Matt has over 12 years’ experience in qualitative research and marketing consultancy, acquired following post-graduate study and an early career in the armed forces. A strategic thinker, he has strong skills in product development, brand strategy and communications; and experience spanning a broad range of sectors including public sector, utilities, finance, and retail.

Kat has worked as a qualitative researcher for over 18 years across commercial, charity and public sectors and has a wealth of experience delivering insight and strategic research for clients including Unilever, WWF, NHS, OHID and the BBC. During her years at Define she has been project lead on a number of significant projects for OHID, GambleAware and British Heart Foundation.

Julie has 20+ years’ experience delivering high quality insight to behaviour change campaigns and groundbreaking communication strategies. Julie has worked extensively across the health, education, media, retail and finance sectors; she has a particular interest in communications and behaviour change drawing on her MSc in Health promotion.

Elena Hailwood

Elena Hailwood

Elena has a multidisciplinary background, having completed a PhD in Social Psychology which was informed by human geography, psychology, and sociology. With a specific interest in qualitative research with vulnerable groups and on sensitive topics, Elena has contributed to the design, delivery and management of a number of studies that have shaped strategy and communications for public and third sector clients.

Lisa Roberts

Lisa Roberts

Lisa has over 20 years' experience in market research across the client and agency side, delivering both qualitative and quantitative research.  She has delivered B2C and B2B qualitative research for a range of public sector and commercial clients, spanning the public sector, finance & media. Her client side experience includes time working for the Welsh Government & S4C.  She has a specific interest in delivering insights to clients that shape strategy and communications.

George Dare

George Dare

George has strong skills in qualitative research, with an undergraduate degree in Social Anthropology. He has contributed to delivery on a number of projects at Define and is comfortable with a range of research methods and contexts, including experience working with socially excluded groups. His interests include online research, communications and behavioural science.

Debra has over 20 years qualitative research agency experience and has worked across a diverse range of sectors, most recently focusing on behaviour change and health issues for central government and public sector clients. She is skilled in communicating with hard to reach and vulnerable groups and has expertise in coaching young people.
